Year 5 - Egyptian Day
Year 5 had a great day exploring the lives of the Ancient Egyptians, learning all about the River Nile and how it was important to the lives for the everyday Egyptian. They learned about the Royal Cubit and used their maths knowledge to measure using this unit of measure.
They handled all sorts of artefacts that were found in the tombs and played out what happens when a Pharaoh dies. This included a funeral procession around the classrooms fully in role.
The workshop leaders were so impressed at how the children represented Longlands during the day. A special mention to the whole class, who were in the workshop leader's words, in the top 5 of best behaved classes out of the hundreds they have worked with over the years.
